Work Visas
Accredited Employer Work Visa: The Accredited Employer Work Visa (AEWV) is the most common work visa for skilled migrants coming to New Zealand, designed for individuals who have secured a full-time job offer from an Immigration New Zealand accredited employer. The process is initiated by your prospective employer, who must first gain accreditation and then an approved "Job Check" for the specific role, proving no suitable local candidates were available. Once this is complete, the employer provides a unique job token, which you, the migrant worker, use to apply for your visa online. To qualify, you must meet health, character, and (for certain roles) English language requirements, as well as demonstrate you have the relevant skills or qualifications (typically two years of experience or a Level 4+ qualification) that the employer specified for the job. This visa offers a stay of up to five years and can provide a potential pathway to New Zealand residence.
How We Can Help
Eligibility Assessment: Evaluating the migrant's qualifications, skills, and work experience against the job requirements and INZ criteria to confirm their eligibility for the specific role.
Documentation Support: Helping the worker gather all required personal documents, such as passport information, health and character evidence, and proof of their experience or qualifications.
Visa Application Submission: Preparing and submitting the final AEWV application online on behalf of the client, using the unique job token provided by the employer.
Ongoing Communication: Serving as the central point of contact during the processing period, managing all correspondence with INZ, and providing timely updates on the application's status.
Issue Resolution: Acting as an advocate if any complications, delays, or adverse decisions arise during the process, and exploring options for appeal if necessary.
By leveraging our expertise and in-depth knowledge of the constantly evolving immigration policies, an advisor can streamline the entire process, minimise the risk of errors or rejection, and ultimately increase the chances of a successful outcome for both parties.
Green List Roles
The New Zealand Green List is a list of highly skilled occupations that are in high demand and ongoing shortage in the country. It is part of New Zealand's immigration policy to attract and retain skilled migrant workers to fill workforce gaps. The Green List covers a wide variety of industries, including healthcare, construction, engineering, and technology.
The Green List is divided into two tiers, each providing a different pathway to New Zealand residency:
Tier 1: Straight to Residence Visa. Migrants with a job offer from an accredited employer in a Tier 1 role can apply for residence immediately, even from offshore. A summary of the occupational categories and specific roles on the Tier 1 Green List is provided below. For the most up-to-date and detailed requirements, refer to the official Immigration New Zealand website.
Health & Social Services Roles
This category includes numerous medical professionals and allied health roles. A wide range of Medical Doctors, Specialists, Nurses, Midwives, and various Allied Health professionals are included.
Engineering Roles
Most engineering fields are represented, including Aeronautical, Chemical, Civil, Electrical, Electronic, Environmental, Geotechnical, Industrial, Materials, Mechanical, Production/Plant, Structural, and Telecommunications Engineers. Various Engineering Technician roles are also listed.
Construction Roles
Key construction management and surveying positions are on the list, such as Construction Project Manager, Project Builder (including Building Project Manager and Site Foreman), Quantity Surveyor, and Surveyor.
ICT, Electronics, and Telecommunications Roles
Several high-demand ICT roles qualify for the Straight to Residence pathway. This includes various programmer, analyst, administrator, and manager roles, along with specialists in ICT security, multimedia, and software testing.
Other Roles (Business, Primary Industries, Science, Education)
This category covers:
Business: External and Internal Auditors.
Primary Industries & Science: Specific roles such as Spatial Scientist, Environmental Research Scientist, and Food Technologist.
Education: Primary, Middle/Intermediate, and Secondary School Teachers (all specialisations).

Tier 2: Work to Residence Visa. Migrants with a Tier 2 role from an accredited employer must work in that position for at least 24 months before they can apply for residence. You can check to see if your occupation is on the Tier 1 list by going on the link provided above.
Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for a Green List residency pathway, applicants must meet several requirements:
